Yoga for letting go

January 4 and 11, 2026 8:30-9:30am

In-Person @ TheFitXchange Kailua Kona, HI - Upstairs Studio

A gentle somatic practice for releasing the Psoas, the body's deep holding place. Includes warm up yoga poses, followed by TRE (Trauma/Tension Release Exercises) - poses specifically tailored for releasing the Psoas muscle, plus Breathwork to support the unwinding of long-held tension.

For women and men. All levels welcome.

Your body could be holding on to more than you realize. Constant physical stress from prolonged sitting or a sedentary lifestyle, or persistent emotional stress such as unmet trauma, signals the mind to contract and "take cover", going into a hyper-vigilant state.

If the body is unable to settle or relax, exhausting tension patterns over time, wreak havoc on our health resulting in back or leg pain, chronic fatigue, sleep, digestive or mood challenges.

Moreover, the inability, or resistance to letting go of trauma can cause the story of the trauma to be replayed time and time again, reliving the event in an endless loop.

Meditation, stillness and rest become difficult for the person stuck in this constant defensive response mode.

But the body has a wonderful built-in restorative mechanism, biologically intelligent, self-organizing, and self-healing, capable of resetting much of our physical and emotional pain - the PSOAS MUSCLE.

The Psoas is much more than your ordinary muscle, it is a messenger for your central nervous system, where your fight/flight/freeze response stems from.

Releasing and Restoring

The Psoas is designed to release excessive muscular tension providing relief from physical pain, and instructs the nervous system to let go of past trauma.

Referred to as the "Muscle of the Soul", the Psoas grounds us and makes energy available to flow freely which revitalizes our bodies. Once relaxed, our sense of safety is restored. We regain balance and equillibrium in our bodies, and in our lives.

Kind Words

"Sharing sacred space with Katie as both peer and having her as a guide, I've witnessed and experienced how she embodies the divine feminine pathway with genuine authenticity and deep courage. Her power lies in her willingness to honor all facets of the human experience - especially grief and uncertainty - demonstrating how these become pathways to higher love when held with reverence. Katie's presence and guidance reminds us how to trust our own Sacred Inner Ground."

Tisha Weber, founder of Beautifully Unwinding

"Katie has a profound ability to connect with others on a deep emotional level—almost like she has an intuitive understanding of where people are in their emotional journey. Her ability to slow things down and help others reconnect with their feelings, especially those that have been buried or ignored, is incredibly special. It's like she has a way of guiding people through their own emotional landscape, helping them feel seen and heard before they even realize what they need to process."

Dearest Katie, Your words are an inspiration. You have been an integral part of my journey to heal.
